The elections of the deputies to the Parliament of Western Armenia of the 2nd convocation are recognized as valid

The elections of the deputies to the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia of the 2nd convocation are over and recognized as valid. In a vote in which 51.505 electorate from 45 countries took part 101 deputies were elected.

The final official results of the elections will be published till September, 15, 2018 and will be available on the following official information resources of the Republic of Western Armenia.

UNESCO: Dialect of Hamshen Armenians endangered in Turkey

The Armenian dialect of the Hamshen people of the Black Sea is one of the 18 languages under the threat of disappearance in Turkey, according to the UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in danger.

The Homshetsma is the dialect of Hamshen Armenians. Currently, the Hamshen dialect is classified as ‘’Definitely endangered’’. The report does not mention the number of Homshetsma speakers, Horizon Weekly reported. Continue reading

David Bohigian travels to Yerevan to promote US investment in Armenia

Preparations are underway at the National Mall in Washington D.C., as the countdown begins for the official opening of the “Armenia: Creating Home” Smithsonian FolkLife festival.
