Unacceptable statement by Nikol Pashinyan: Current agenda on return of refugees contains very serious risks

According to the logic that is currently used in both Armenia and Azerbaijan, the agenda on the return of people who have become refugees from Armenia and Azerbaijan since the early 1990s contains very serious risks to the peace agenda because the discussion of this agenda becomes a subject of political speculation, and this discussion will not bring anything to the refugees themselves, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing Thursday.

As per Pashinyan, instead, this agenda will create new tensions, with all the consequences. He added that many conflicts, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, began with the discussion of “innocent cultural, social, political issues.”

“This is my approach and the strategic proposal to both the Armenian and Azerbaijani publics. I believe we should follow this path,” added Pashinyan.

Also, the Armenian premier noted that in peacetime, everyone can visit any place as a tourist.
