International Olympic Committee member: Tokyo Olympics to be postponed

Member of the International Olympic Committee, first President of the World Anti-Doping Agency Dick Pound, 78, has informed that the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will be postponed and will most likely be held in 2021. The details regarding the postponement will be considered over the next four weeks.

Dick Pound told USA Today that everything will take place in stages and there will be talks over a new term.

All the qualifying and rating tournaments for the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed for an uncertain period due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the National Olympic Committees of Canada, Australia and Norway have already announced that they will boycott the Olympics, if they aren’t postponed.
