The 2026 state budget draft of Armenia does not include funding for the renovation of the railway stretching from Yeraskh village to the border of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave. This was announced by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, during the debates on the 2026 state budget draft of Armenia at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly on Friday, as he responded to the MPs’ questions.
The minister stated that no funding is planned to prepare the railway infrastructure for the potential unblocking of transport connections.
“In the management of infrastructure in the Meghri region, issues related to coordination with the US are under the jurisdiction of the office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan,” Khudatyan added.
