US intends to allocate at least $60 million to Armenia

The US Committee on Appropriations recommends including not less than $60,000,000 in help for Armenia for economic development, private sector productivity, energy independence, democracy and the rule of law, and other purposes.

The recommendations came in the report in explanation of the accompanying bill making appropriations for the Department of State, foreign operations, and related programs, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023, and for other purposes.

“In addition, the Committee recommendation also includes not less than $2,000,000 for demining activities in Nagorno-Karabakh. Conflict in the Caucasus. The Committee remains concerned about the humanitarian impact of the conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh and resulting challenges in the areas of housing, food security, water and sanitation, health care and other human needs,” the report noted.
