UN agrees on definition of Holocaust denial. What about the Armenian Genocide?

The UN General Assembly agreed on a definition of Holocaust denial and called on social media to take active action to combat anti-Semitism, Reuters reports.

“The General Assembly is sending a strong and unambiguous message against the denial or the distortion of these historical facts,” said Germany’s U.N. Ambassador Antje Leendertse. “Ignoring historical facts increases the risk that they will be repeated.”

The 193-member General Assembly passed the resolution drafted by Israel and Germany without a vote.

The resolution”calls on Member States and social media to take active measures to combat anti-Semitism and denial or distortion of the Holocaust through information and communication technologies, and to promote coverage of such content.
